Tales of an imaginary world

In 1987, at 21 years old, I discovered Valley in the Clouds by David Arkenstone. The quality of the arrangements, the recordings, the sounds—everything about that album left a lasting impression on me. Decades later, in early 2024, I played the CD again (yes, I still listen to CDs and LPs!) and realized it was time to create something that excited me as much as that album had back then.

I started in July, mapping out my main influences and what I wanted to bring into this project. The concept began with the name: Tales of an Imaginary World. From there, I developed the idea for the cover art—a vision of an imaginary world that could visually connect to each track, with the songs serving as sonic representations of that image.

I planned 10 tracks. Some nights, with a glass of wine in hand, I would stare at the cover, find a sound, and write down a name and concept for a new piece. Once this stage was complete, I began recording, always keeping in mind that every track should feel like part of a sequence yet maintain its own distinct personality. The album needed to be experienced as a story, with continuity despite its breaks.

Throughout this journey, I was accompanied by the sounds of David Arkenstone, Constance Demby, Steve Roach, Max Highstein, George Winston, and Craig Armstrong. Each of them, in their own way, helped shape the textures and atmospheres that brought this project to life.

Seven months later, in January 2025, I finally achieved a 37-year-old dream. Tales of an Imaginary World is a blend of healing music and new age, yet firmly rooted in electronic sounds—shifting weight, speed, and emotions—while staying true to my unique production style.

1 - As above meet beyond:
Does the universe replicate itself in its infinity? This song invites you to lift your eyes to the stars and wonder: what mysteries inhabit these worlds we can barely glimpse? What would their landscapes, their sounds, their silences be like? Close your eyes, free your mind, and allow yourself to cross these imaginary frontiers to the sound of this song.

2 - Miracle of life
If miracles exist, the greatest of them all is life itself: a pulsating organism upon a wandering rock, drifting at millions of kilometers per hour through a vast vacuum. A sphere where water dances, where oxygen fills us, and where chemistry conspires to make everything bloom.

3 - Carbon blues
But what if life could take a different form? What if flowers of flerovium, of Gaio, or of some yet-unknown element existed? Imagine colors we have never seen, scents we have never perceived. Let your mind explore these impossible possibilities.

4 - Wings above sky
Flying has always been a human dream. But what if, in other worlds, it were the rule rather than the exception? Winged beings cutting through the skies, defying gravity, gliding in harmony with the winds. What kind of freedom would that be? What sensations would they experience? Close your eyes and feel yourself lifted, light, unbound... Just like the music that invites you to this imaginary flight.

And beneath the sea? Is it all silence or sound? Who moves gracefully in the aquatic shadows? Who feels the pressure of the tides and glides between the filtered light of the ocean? This song is an invitation to dive into the essence of the waters, into the fluidity of the bodies that dwell within them. Feel the immersion.

6 - The second rising moon
When the second moon rises, what changes in the sky? What beings awaken under its soft and enigmatic glow? What secrets hide within the tides that rise with its presence? Colors, sounds, and movements transform. Imagine a world bathed in the light of two moons and let your mind play with this new reality.

7 - Drawin´s nest
There are places that tell stories without words. A towering rock wall where ancestral symbols are engraved, carved by hands trying to capture time, memory, a meaning. Who created them? What did they want to say? What can we still learn by touching these marks of the past? This song journeys through the mysteries of human expression across the centuries.

8 - The first touch of rain
The rain... So simple, yet so infinite in sensations. Does it refresh? Comfort? Give you chills? What is it like to be touched by something that slides over your skin and vanishes? Each drop carries a sound, a memory, a moment. Let yourself be enveloped by the soundscape of this tactile and sensory experience.

9 - Skins of a deep forest
Does the forest have skin? What hides within its shadows, its tangle of life? Who are the beings that move among the leaves, invisible to our eyes? What sounds does the jungle hold? What secrets does it whisper among its trees? Close your eyes and feel the presence of this living, mysterious wilderness.

10 - The nature untamed
And finally, the last song. Nature does not submit; it simply is. It may bend for a time, adapting to the will of its inhabitants, but in the great cycle of time, it always prevails. Everything we do echoes in it, and its responses may be subtle or overwhelming. But they always come. What do you imagine about this unstoppable force? Listen and let yourself be carried away by this reflection.
