Moon rising

A Sonic Journey to the Moon

I have always been fascinated by the natural satellite that graces our night sky—the Moon. This fascination led my thoughts to wander into different realms, and one of them was imagining a person who longs to go to the Moon, someone who dreams of becoming a true lunatic.

With this idea in mind, I envisioned this person in a state of longing, gazing at the Moon through cold or warm nights, full or waning, as the days passed one after the other. A process of seduction, in which they would look up and wonder—what would it be like to be there?

And so, this album was born. The tracks unfold as the desires and emotions of this dreamer, each representing a different stage of their journey:

  • Taking Off – The first track represents the primal impulse, the initial spark of wanting to leave. It embodies the raw energy that sets everything else in motion.

  • Detachment – This track is about the things we must leave behind when setting off toward something new. It explores the concept of letting go, breaking ties with the past to embrace the future.

  • Departure – This song carries movement; it envisions the actual preparations for the journey. What must be done, invented, and imagined to make the voyage to the Moon possible?

  • Moon – As its title suggests, this track represents the Moon itself—the curiosity, the attraction, and the deep desire to reach it.

  • Liquid Sky – A song about the journey, about the emotional transition between here and there. It conveys the experience of leaving everything behind for something that seems incredible yet remains unknown.

  • Mountain – The final track represents the moment when our protagonist sits atop one of the Moon’s mountains, gazing at the vast universe ahead. It captures the shift in perspective—looking back at the place they came from, now seen from a completely new and distant vantage point.

At its core, Moon Rising is a powerful metaphor for life’s many transitions. You can listen to it as your own journey or as the story of someone who longed to be on the Moon.
