Distopya
Definition of Dystopia: According to the Oxford Dictionary, a dystopia is ‘an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic.’
Concept: A forgotten kingdom, trapped within a crystal sphere, gathering dust in the attic of a public library in Essex. Time stands still inside, while the outside world moves on, oblivious to the lost civilization within. Four compositions, three instrumental pieces, and one vocal track, each telling a chapter of this eerie, melancholic, and decaying world. The final song, We Are the Seasons, tells the story of a world that cycles through endless transformations, yet remains trapped in its own fate.
1. GLASSBOUND (Instrumental) A kingdom locked inside a crystal sphere, forever frozen in time. The song’s soundscape mirrors the fragile and eerie beauty of this forgotten realm, with shimmering synths and melancholic strings evoking an atmosphere of isolation and stillness.
2. THE LIBRARIAN'S CURSE (Instrumental) Long ago, a librarian in Essex unknowingly sealed the kingdom inside the sphere with an ancient spell. This track captures the moment of entrapment—distant chimes, whispering winds, and an eerie ticking rhythm represent the slow, endless march of time within the glass prison.
3. THE VEIL OF STATIC (Instrumental) The kingdom begins to feel the weight of stagnation. The sky flickers with fractured light, the people sense their world unraveling, yet they remain bound by an invisible force. A blend of distorted sound waves, fragmented melodies, and haunting echoes reflects the slow decay of reality.
4. WE ARE THE SEASONS (Sung Track) The kingdom’s fate is tied to an endless cycle, mirroring the ever-turning seasons of life. Just as nature blooms and fades, the kingdom yearns for renewal but remains trapped in its glass cage. The song’s lyrics tell of hope, transformation, and the inevitability of change, yet the people inside the crystal can only watch as the cycle repeats without end. This final piece is both a lament and a celebration of life’s rhythms, its melancholic yet uplifting tones marking the climax of the album.
Conclusion: Dystopia is not just an album—it is a story of fragility, entrapment, and the longing for freedom. Each composition is a window into a world that was never meant to last, an echo from a kingdom no one remembers. And now, only the music remains.
